SINGAPORE – A transportation company director allegedly took part in a corrupt arrangement to have 10 loads of chicken compost improperly disposed of in Tuas South Way.
Singaporean Kee Yuet Ting, 40, who was from KYT Transport at the time, is accused of agreeing to give Hossain Toufik a bribe of $50 for every lorry load of the waste.
Hossain, 34, who is a Bangladeshi, was then a site supervisor at a company called Koh Civil Engineering.
He is accused of agreeing to the bribe in exchange for Kee arranging the improper disposal of the chicken compost.
On May 7, the men were each handed a graft charge for the offences said to have been committed around June 2024.
Court documents did not mention if any waste was disposed of in Tuas South Way in the end.
Kee’s case will be mentioned again in court on May 28, while Hossain is expected to plead guilty on June 19.
For graft, an offender can be jailed for up to five years, fined up to $100,000 or both.
